Intermediate Camp
Intermediate Camp is for kids in grades 6-9. Each summer there are two 1 week Intermediate Camp sessions.
Mornings at Intermediate start around the flagpole where they raise the flag and recite the pledge. Then they have what we call, "God's Time". A time of prayer and meditation with our Heavenly Father. The morning continues with a great breakfast and camp clean up. Before heading off to classes they share some time of worship in our morning chapel. After lunch, afternoons are filled with cabin activities and swim time at the lake. All of this activity gets them ready to share supper after which they all get the chance to say the memory verse befor evening chapel. The boys cabins take turns leading us in our evening chapel time. An evening activity, canteen and some fun and worship around a campfire close out the day.
Campers participate in Capture the Flag, swimming, tractor rides, mud sliding, soccer, basketball, volley ball, boating, cabin games, broom hockey, and many other activities throughout the session.
This age group seems to have fun in whatever they do. From work details to cabin activities. There never seems to be a dull minute. The worship and devotional times are amazing. They play hard, work hard and worship will all they have.
One thing people enjoy about Intermediate is the feeling of being part of the NYC family. Whether this is your first year at Intermediate or you last year, you feel welcomed, loved, accepted and part of who we are.
“ At the Intermediate session we really strive to learn what it means to live and be more and more like Jesus. In the process lifetime friendships are made and strengthened. ”
-Eric Tremaine, Session Director
