Jake Munsell has been involved with Nebraska Youth Camp for 22 years, serving in many different roles at various sessions. Jake has served on the Board of Directors for 5 years, serving as Committee Chairman and YAC Board Sponsor. He has served at the Beginners, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior sessions, as well as the Midwest Youth Rally, serving as Activities Director, Cabin Councilor, Caretaker, Cook, Kitchen Helper, Lifeguard, Nurse, Spiritual Life Director, Teacher, Maintenance Man, Consruction Worker, in the Canteen, and also served on the Youth Advisory Council as President.
Jake serves as a Nebraska Youth Camp representative wherever he goes and serves during worship at his local church in York Nebraska, and his home away from home in Kearney.
“ Seeing the impact the camp had on my life has helped me realize the importance of the ministry.
I've found God's purpose for my life at Nebraska Youth Camp. Everything from watering trees to pouring concrete to counseling in a cabin to teaching a class children during our youth sessions to all the other odds and ends jobs that come along with serving, they all have helped shaped my character for the Kingdom.
My favorite part of camp is seeing kids build a relationship with God. ”
Jake uses his many years of experience as the "maintenance guy" to serve the camp. He currently works as a Technician at Donna's Computer Sales and Service in York Nebraska.
Outside of church and camp Jake enjoys building websites, geocaching, fishing, hunting, and trying to keep his wife Libby happy.
Jake's favorite scripture is John 3:16 “ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ”
