Franklin Wood has been involved with Nebraska Youth Camp for 6 years, serving in several positions at various sessions. Franklin has served primarily as a Teacher but has also served as Spiritual Life Director and Activities Director. Franklin has served at the Intermediate and Senior Sessions as well as the Midwest Youth Rally.
At his local congregation, Southwest church of Christ in Omaha Nebraska, Franklin serves as a full time Youth Minister, teaches both teenage and adult classes, and occasionally serves as the Worship Leader.
“ I just want to serve teenagers and their families. Bringing people closer to God is my passion, and the reason for my entering into youth ministry.
NYC gives me spiritual refreshment every year. It has enabled me to meet some godly and inspiring teenagers and adults from Nebraska and surrounding states. It brings out in me the desire to present the very best attitude, Bible classes, and encouragement to others. ”
Franklin uses his 11 years of experience in youth ministry to serve the camp. He has worked with both churched and unchurched teenagers to bring them closer to God. He has also worked with families in counciling and conflict resolution and has experience in raising funds for youth mission trips.
Outside of camp and church, Franklin enjoys reading, writing, golf, watching and participating in almost any sport, geocaching, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Franklin's favorite scripture is 1 Timothy 1:15 “ Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. ”
